Kidney Cancer Stage 1: Radiation Therapy Timeline & Effectiveness

hi there my friend has got kidney cancer in the first stage. She's been going for rediation therapy for 2weeks now can you tell me how long she would have to go for the rediation therapy and when will it start working?

Actually most kidney cancers are not very sensitive to radiation therapy so I'm somewhat surprised that this is her treatment. No surgery at all? Surgery is usually the primary treatment.
