Birth Control Pills and Cancer Risk: What Doctors Know

Question
I have heard there is causal connection between some types of the birth control pill(which i am not certain) is that true? From my limited study of science and statistics that would mean the birth control pill can directly cause cancer in an otherwise healthy women. As a doctor and being closer to the results of studies and experiments would you say that this is a preliminary conclusion or a close to definitive reality due to many different studies showing the same results?

Answer
There is a connection between breast cancer in women and female sex hormones (even those produced normally in a female body). So there is also a certain connection (not big but it exists) with the female sex hormones in female birth control pills.  There are a number of such studies showing this result but also some that did not show any connection. However some connection would be logical.
