QuestionI stopped taking ortho tricyclin 9 months ago and recently started taking it again since I will be deploying to Iraq and wanted to regulate my period. I got my period last week and started taking the first white pill on Sunday. Is there a window within which I must wait before I have sex. Does a month have to elapse, for example, for this pill to be effective again? Or, is it effective already since I have been taking it the same time every day, even though one week has not elapsed. Thanks.
AnswerIt probably says in the little pamphlet that came with your pills. Read it.
For most brands it's like this:
Start on the first day of bleeding: protected from pregnancy from day one.
Start on any other day: use a barrier for the first 7 days on the pill.
