Irregular Periods After Starting Birth Control: What to Expect
QuestionI had a baby about 3 months ago, and before I began my cylces again, I got on the pill. My doctor told me to start taking it the following Sunday. After about a week or so of taking the pills, I had a period, and also another one 2 weeks later, when I was supposed to start according to my pills. I thought it prabobly had something to do with the fact that I had just delivered, but I have been having 2 periods each month for the last 3 months. Is it because I just delivered, or is this common when just starting birth control?
AnswerBirth control confuses your body, so your body is confused. Nothing is normal when you are taking artificial hormones. Having just delivered complicates things because your body hasn't returned to normal from the event either. Congratulations on the baby. Have another one or several, then you don't have to worry about birth control and its' side effects.
