Post-Birth Control Pill: Headaches & Heart Racing - What to Expect

Question
Hello, I am a 22 year old female who has been on the birth control pill YASMIN-28 for about a year and a half. Me and my husband decided it was the right time to begin the process of starting a family. So just about a week ago, after my period finished, I did not start a new pack as I normally would have. I felt no different the first day (Monday), but for the last four days (Tues-Fri) I had gotten headaches and I felt that my heart was racing! so Tuesday night I decided to check my blood pressure. After I checked it, I was in SHOCK! the machine read: 161/100 and my pulse was 99. Normally my blood pressure is usually 110/70. Everyday this week I've checked my pressure and it has been a steady 160/100. Is this due to the fact that I stopped the pill? I'm very scared and confused! help please!

Answer
Hello Jenny,
Please call your personal physician or go to a medical clinic as soon as possible. I'm not a medical doctor but this is a high blood pressure. I'm not sure if going off the pill would cause this but you need to find out what is the problem. Please email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and let me know what happens. I'm worried about you so please email me back when you go or find out.
