Irregular Period After Stopping Melodene: What to Expect
QuestionI stopped taking my pill Melodene after 10 days. Four years ago I was on this pill and fell pregnant but miscarried. My husband and I are trying for a baby and I am not sure when my next period is due. I went onto the pill to try regulate my periods but it made me very ill. If i work on a 28 day cycle i was due to start on the 29th November however i am 7 days late. When can i expect my period to go back to normal or could i be pregnant. I am anxious about doing a pregnancy test as i fear the disappointment of not being pregnant.
AnswerYour cycle could be disrupted by taking the pill for 10 days and then quitting. That may be the reason for the delay in your period. However, the delay may also indicate pregnancy but I can't know that. If you want to wait another week and then do the pregnancy test, that would be fine. There is no way to know how much the pill will disrupt your normal pattern but it should go back to the way it was soon, unless you are pregnant. And then: Congratulations! Personally, I would get a pregnancy test. I would rather KNOW than spend my time WONDERING.
