QuestionI have been on the depo shot since November 30th of this year. My period had not yet started before i got the shot and it never came until yesterday, just one day.
I have been feeling very dizzy, nauseous, have headaches constantly, sex is VERY painful both during and after, I'm depressed, irritable, constantly have to urinate and have cramps off and on.
i started having horrible cramps yesterday and when i went to change my pad, a large amount of thick tissue came out of me. it looked like vaginal lining or a placenta in comparison. I bled very heavily that day and today, most of the bleeding has stopped.
i went to a doctor who didn't do a pelvic exam, dismissed the tissues as a blood clot ( a white blood clot with blood vessels and cords? right)
and dismissed my symptoms saying "oh you're just getting used to the shot that's all and as far as sex goes, take an aspirin an hour before intercourse"
this is BS. I am very sick, in quite a bit of pain, and last night I passed a piece of tissue about 6 inches long and 3 inches wide, that cannot be normal..
Is this really my body " getting used to the depo" ???
AnswerDear Jaimee,
I'm not a medical doctor but to me, this just doesn't sound right. I urge you to consult a different doctor as soon as possible. Your condition is very concerning to me. I don't recommend the depo provera shot at all just because of side effects and risks. I'm sorry you had to find out this way.
Please go to a walk in clinic or somewhere as soon as possible. I would appreciate you emailing me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com so I can find out what happens with you.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
