Depo-Provera Side Effects: Prolonged Bleeding & Pain - What to Do

I took the shot once & I'm supposed to go back for my second shot soon but out of no where I got my period and it's lasted for about almost 2 weeks now & it's not just spotting . Sometimes when I wipe it hurt too like if I had a cut . Is that just cos it's tender from  so much from whiping ? I don't know why my period is lasting so long on this shot and why it hurts sometimes . What does this mean ?

Hi Natasha,

I don't recommend using any kind of hormonal birth control method because of side effects and risks. Why don't you consider another method of birth control or perhaps consider abstinence if possible.
