Birth Control and Mood Changes: Is It Right for You?

Question
QUESTION: Hi.
I've heard that I am really different while I am on the pill.
I don't talk much, I feel and act sad even when I'm happy, and I NEVER want to be touched.
Not even hugged.
But I don't really realize some of these things.
But that's just what I've heard.

I also am trying to get pregnant (and yes, I've thought about ALL of the consequences.) but if I skip my pills three or more days in a row, I start my period.

And before I took birth control, I would have my period for a whole month or not have my period for a whole year.
And now I get REALLY bad cramps when I'm on my period.

So I really don't want to be on my period for a whole month.
But I don't want to be on my pills either..

What should I do..?
-Karissa

ANSWER: Hi Karissa,
By the way, I really like your name. Anyway, I'm not a physician so I recommend that you go to this website http://www.optionline.org or please email me so we can talk more.  Some of the things you mention could be caused by the birth control pills. I see that you say that you have thought about ALL the consequeces. But it is true that it is not advisable to get pregnant while taking the pills.
Also, please check with your local physician. The period problems and cramping need to have medical attention.

Talk soon.

QUESTION: Thank you so much for the advice. =]
But I was talking to this other girl, and she convinced me not to get pregnant.
And also, I don't act as different now.
I still get cramps and my pills are still messed up, but I'm gonna try to fix all of it and maybe talk to my doctor about the cramps.
But thank you so much. =]

p.s.
Lol, thanks.
I am just now getting used to my name. I used to hate it. Haha

Answer

I'm glad to hear that you are better and I hope it continues. I'm not sure if I did send you my information on dangers and risks of being on birth control pills. So I'm going to include it just in case. I hope you will email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and we can keep in touch. Here's the info. Let me know what you think....
