Birth Control Shot Effectiveness & Safety: What You Need to Know

I just got the birth control shot a week ago. when my boyfriend and i have sex we don't use protection. how long should i wait to have sex for the shot to be effective?

Thanks for your question. I'm not a medical doctor so please check with your physician. The birth control shot is not 100% effective against pregnancy. It should be effective soon but not 100%. I don't recommend the shot because of the risks and side effects. Let me know or talk to your doctor if you have any side effects or problems.
