Fertility After the Depo-Provera Shot: What You Need to Know

I'm Amanda I'm 18 years old I've only been on the shot for 6 months and i wanted off of it because i was gaining weight and going through mood swings, but everyone tells me that I'm really fertile but i wanted to know for myself.

More often you have lost your fertility when you stop taking the shot.  It sometimes takes several months to regain your periods.  No one can tell you if you are fertile or not.  Lots of people know of other people who seemed to be more fertile or less fertile but no one knows, even a doctor can't tell you.  

The only way you know if you are fertile is if you try to get pregnant and you do get pregnant.  Sometimes it takes several months even for young healthy women because there are many variables.  

But if you want to preserve and protect your fertility, you should definitely get off the pill or the shot because both of them can damage your fertility severely.
