QuestionOkay last month I had unprotected sex right after my period. I went to Pharmacy to get my Birth control when they told me had no more re-fills. So, I had to wait until i could see the doctor again. My last period started on the 21st of
August and ended on the 27th. I had unprotected sex on the 29th and was suppose to start my new pack of the generic of ortho tri cycle but did not. September 5 and accidental unprotected sex happen again. The following day i took the morning after pill w/ was Saturday afternoon and took the 2nd pill at 12 midnight. Around the 11th of September i had a few spotting and brown stuff for 3days and then it finally went away. My expected period should come tomorrow September 25th. i have been so STRESSED OTU about being Pregnant and have been looking online about ll sorts of things. Do you think its possible i could be? When Can i expect my period to come? Should I expect it to come as normal tomorrow under my conditions? PLEASE HELP!! I'm so stressed out! Thanks you!
AnswerHi Denise,
I read your comments. You are welcome for the help. I think at this point it is ok to wait to start your new pill pack until this Sunday. If you haven't gotten your period by Sunday and have not taken a pregnancy test by then, take one first. If the result is negative go ahead and start the pack. This means you may not get a period this month.

Hi Denise,
It is very possible that you period will be late this month. Not being on the pill as normal as well as taking the morning after pill can contribute to your period being late or skipped completely. Also, stress can contribute to a late period, which of course makes many women even more stressed! There is a chance you could be pregnant from having sex on the 29th, as it sounds like you did not take the morning after pill nor your birth control. This does not mean you are definitely pregnant, just that the chance is greater than when on the pill.
The spotting you experienced is a common side effect of the morning after pill. So I would say don't be surprised if your period does not arrive on time, and that this does not mean you are pregnant since there are several other reasons why it is late. It is unclear from your email whether you are now back on the pill. If you are, then your period will definitely not arrive until you have reached the inactive pill week.
I recommend taking a home pregnancy test tomorrow if your period does not arrive to ease your concern and help with your stress. If it is negative, I recommend waiting a week to see if your period does arrive, and if it does not take another test to be sure. If you are on the active pills during that time, I'd take a test anyway so you don't have to feel stressed while waiting for the inactive week.
I hope this has helped. If you have further questions let me know.
