Starting Ortho Tri-Cyclen: Can I Start Mid-Cycle?

I recently stopped getting the depo shot due to weight gain. I am changing to ortho tri cyclen 28 day. I have not had a regular period in 4 months and didn't have one at all for 11 years while on the depo shot. I am needing to know if I can start the pill today even though I am not on my period? And if I do start the pill, will I have to throw out and start a whole new pack when my period starts?

Sorry I was not able to get your question until today. So what did you end up doing? Did you start the pill? Let me know so I can advise you properly. You probably should talk to your doctor about your questions. I don't recommend depo or birth control pills because they are hormonal methods. There can be risks and side effects from the hormones.
