QuestionI am currently taking Yasmin 24/4 birth control pills and about 3 weeks ago I missed one pill in about my third week. The next day in the afternoon (I normally take the pills in the evening) I continued with the pills but I did not take the missed pill, or in other words, I did not take two pills at once.
The fourth week, I had my period as normal and I started a new pack and have not missed a pill for three weeks. Last night I had unprotected sex, will the one missed pill from 3 weeks ago affect the effectiveness of the pill at this point?
This is my third month on Yasmin.
AnswerIn my opinion, that one pill missed should not make that much difference. But there is always a chance of pregnancy whenever you have sex. The only way of guaranteeing 100% that you will not get pregnant is to not have sex.
Also, ask your own doctor all your questions. I do not generally recommend the birth control pill or any kind of hormonal birth control method. The reasons are because of risks and side effects to your health.
