What to Do If You Missed Your First Active Birth Control Pill

I have been taking Ortho-Tricyclen Lo for 18 months and had not missed a Pill.  I am a first day starter and usually take my first ative Pill on a Monday, however this cycle I missed Monday's pill and started on Tuesday.  I did not notice until 2 days later and took the extra pill, as instructed to take a missed pill as soon as you notice.  Am I still safe this month?

Hi Melissa,

This has happened to me too. You should be fine this month, but use a back up for the 7 days following your start, until Monday. If you have already had sex, try not to worry. Ive done this twice in the 2 years Ive been on it, and everythings been fine.
