QUESTION: hi thee i had my second abortion on wednesday i was only 7weeks but i only bled a tiny bit on the day not even enough to fill a quarter of a pad and then nothing on thurs then yesterday i was leaking a puss like substance and it smelt quite nasty i have bled a little more today but im not getting alot of pain. where as with my first i was in terrible pain and got through a packet of pads in two days i know that may have been caused by the botched job the surgeon did but i was told to expect to bleed please reply zoe xx

A few things that might be helpful - at 7 weeks there is no embryo at all, so you shouldn't feel bad that you hurt anything. At this stage the uterus is getting ready for the pregnancy, and there is a lining developing, like your period, but thicker. It would have been another month before an embryo was developed. The bleeding sounds normal. If the discharge and funny smell goes away, there is nothing you need to do. If it continues, you need to start on antibiotics (Flagyl 500 mg twice a day - no alcohol, for 7 days), and probably see a doctor. Most discharge that smells funny like this is harmless, and goes away easily.
