Post-Abortion Recovery & Fertility: What to Expect
Questioni had an abortion 3weeks ago which ii deeply regret.meanwhile when i went for my check up which is usually 2weeks i was told i still had some blood cloth and was advised to come back for a procedure the following day which i did.what bothers me most is that the doctor advised i should wait a year before getting pregnant because i have had several abortions and i and my husband would have love to try trying for a child asap.presently though i do have slight scramps and i am spotting.pls i need your advise on what to do.should i go ahead and ignore the doctors advice?
AnswerDear Stacy,
Absolutely ignore the doctor's advice. I would wait one month, but then go ahead and start trying again. There is no reason to wait. Your body is perfectly ready and able to get pregnant again. If you don't get pregnant right away, it's not likely from the abortion - sometimes it just takes time, naturally, when you are trying.
Good luck!
I hope this is helpful,
