QuestionI recently had an abortion about 3 and a half weeks ago. I just returned to the same clinic
for my follow-up appointment to make sure everything was okay. I am just a little
concerned because all they did was a pregnancy test and ultrasound. The pregnancy test
came back with a weak positive, and the doctor said he could not see anything from the
ultrasound but said I needed to either take pills similar to the medical abortion pills or else
have the surgical procedure again just to be safe. I'm just curious if that was the best he
could have done? I thought he would have at least taken a look at my cervix to make sure
it had closed properly and to check for infection or else have done a blood test to count
hCG levels to see if a repeat was necessary. I took the pills and am due back in a week for
another follow-up (if a pregnancy test from urine still shows up positive then he said I will
need to have a repeat surgical procedure). I'm just wondering what you think about all of it,
or if it would be smarter to go before to another doctor or clinic and get a second opinion;
I'm just really scared and upset about the whole idea of it not being over.
AnswerHello Erin,
I really don't trust anyone in the abortion industry so my advice would be to try another place. I have heard stories of women who were given "abortions" not even being pregnant. Women have been hurt and killed in the clinics. Perhaps this "doctor" is trying to get more money out of you. Yes, I agree with you that you should been looked at more carefully.
Sounds like you were just rushed through the checkup. If you feel "weird" about this, I think you should trust your "gut feelings" and do what you need to do to protect your own health from now on.
How do you feel emotionally/psychologically? Let me know as I provide post abortion healing counseling.
