QuestionHello Ms. Diane,
I am trying to pick out a provider in my area (Greater Washington, DC) and am having a difficult time. I have had abortions before, one in a Planned Parenthood and another in a private physician's office. The second one had retained tissue because it was attempted early in the pregnancy but the issue was resolved after a second
attempt. Because of this, my preference is to find someone who offers MVA and is located either in DC, MD, or VA. It seems to me that MVA is a good option for someone like me--who wants to do the least dilating as possible--and is 5 weeks 1 day as of sunday night. I am currently scheduled at a local facility for this Friday but I don't know that much about the facility as a whole (and it doesn't appear that they do the mva), and it is just plain scary to look through online--I came across this website today and it definitely freaked me out: http://prochoiceproviders.com/Northern%20Virginia%20Pro-Choice%20Providers.htm
I just don't know where to get it done and feel safe about it. I have professional obligations which require me to 'take care' of this within the next week. Sigh--I hate how crass that may sound to others but I guess the truth sometimes comes in the form of a resounding thud. And there it is.
Anyways, any guidance you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I just want to make sure I am in a safe, not-recently-sued-facility that wants to take care of me, and hope that one of those providers does the MVA as well.
Thank you,
Sami
AnswerHello Sami,
I don't know if you read my profile but I don't recommend or refer for abortions. I don't believe that an abortion is a safe option. I would much more recommend to have your baby and either raise him/her or provide the child with a loving family situation.
That is a rather interesting website and I have not know of that one. I have researched abortion for almost 21 years and cannot recommend.
Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and we can discuss this further. If you provide me with the name of the facility, I can check it out further. Also, please join the group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/unplanned_pregnancy_help/
Here you can get advice and support from women who have been in much the same situation as you.
Hope to hear from you soon. Put ALLEXPERTS in the subject line of your email.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
