Faint Positive Pregnancy Test After Abortion: What Could It Mean?

Question
QUESTION: I had an abortion on june 11th an was on birth control and bleeding until june 13th. Me an my boyfriend have been having unprotected sex since then till now i just took a pregnancy test an the positive result was very very faint. I'm not sure if this is from the abortion or a new pregnancy. I'v been cramping an kind of peeing more but i dont know if this is all in my head. so i would like to know what you think.

Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Anna,

Thanks for your question. Yes, your abortion can cause you to have a false pregnancy test or you could be pregnant. I would advise you to get a free pregnancy test and advice at a local pregnancy center. You can find one at http://www.optionline.org or call 1-800-395-HELP. Or try

QUESTION: i found out i wasn't pregnant. they did a vaginal ultrasound an it just show i started my period an it was heavy which it was but my period started the 5th an ended the 10. which was 4days ago. i had a little cramping a day or so after my period but today i started to bleed very lightly with no cramping an i had bad bad heartburn. i was worried cause it was so bad i didn't know it was heart burn till someone told me an Ive never had that before. me and my boyfriend have been having sex before on an after my period unprotected. so how long after sex can implantation bleeding happen? an when can i test? does it sound like pregnancy to you?

Answer
Hi Anna,

I think you could possibly be pregnant but consult your doctor about this. What does your doctor say about what you have shared with me. If you want to take a pregnancy test, you can call 1-800-395-HELP or go online at http://www.optionline.org
