Answer
Hi, Austin,

Well, I don't know what all groups there might be, but there are also groups that encourage adoption. Most of them don't take a stand on abortion. They just promote adoption as a good choice. These days, you'd never know these groups even exist, because adoption has been given a bad reputation. Adoption groups help put bio parents and adoptive parents together. They also inform people about the different options available. These days, there are basically open and closed adoptions. In closed adoptions, no information about the identity of either sets of parents is shared with the other. When we adopted our two, this was the usual way it was. Open adoption means things like the bio parents can help select the adoptive parents or make the final decision. In some cases, adoptive parents will keep bio parents informed of the progress of the child with letters and pictures. In other cases, there is actual contact between bio parents and the child. One of our daughters adopted two, and they have open adoptions. I know of one bio mother who placed her daughter for adoption, kept in touch with the adoptive mother, and when she became pregnant again, she decided to parent her son. The two children get together and play together. It has worked out well, and the adoptive mother was very supportive of the bio mother during her second pregnancy. Hope this helps. Feel free to ask more specific questions.

One thing I should mention is the existence of groups that help expectant parents with their practical, emotional, and spiritual problems when they face a difficult pregnancy. These are called crisis pregnancy agencies. They can be quite helpful. For one thing, they can help with finances. They also help with women who are suffering from the emotional consequences of abortion, and increasingly, they also help fathers.
