QuestionDear Dr.,
I am writing in regard to a miscarriage i was hoping you could help me with a question as there are no experts currently available for this specific topic.
I was 11 weeks pregnant and started bleeding heavy a few days ago i had fever and serve pain in my back area. At the hospital they did an ultrasound the baby was healthy and heart beat fine with no bleeding around the sac they sent me home with meds and told me to come back in a week.
The following day when i got out of bed i felt something and went to the bathroom and the fetus had came out i was very shocked and went to hospital, i have now had a d&c, for the remnants.
Everything on the web seems to point to that the fetus dies and then miscarries, although i feel that when i miscarried my fetus was live. If so then what could be the reason for my body to miscarry a live and well fetus?
Thank you for your time
Kind Regards,
Sara
AnswerDear Sara,
a living fetus Is NEVER EVER aborted spontaneously.
I do not know what makes you think it was alive.
But I am 100 % sure it was not.
Miscarriages in the first trimester are not very seldom.
Its always because there are some faults in the genetics or anatomy.
Nature protects you for abnormal baby's this way.
Its hard, but such is life.
Do not worry too much. It is sad, but: Try again !
bests,
Dr Shan
