QuestionHello Pat,
Thank you very much for your prompt response.I am the lady from South Africa who gave birth recently. I tried to attach a pic but I'm having problems because I'm using my mobile.I will try again when I get to a computer.
I'm happy that my baby is ok despite the cytotec that I took. However I wanted to ask,do you think there might be problems in the future like stunted growth?I'm scared of that but I hope the baby will be ok.
Thank you once again for being there for me when I wrote for advice and reassuring me throughout all those months.God bless you Pat :)
AnswerHello, Tanya,
It is unlikely the Cytotec you took will cause stunted growth in the future. Here's why. When Cytotec is taken early in pregnancy, it impairs nutrition to the baby. As a result, body parts might not grow to full size. However, if a woman takes Cytotec too late, the body parts are already fully formed, and since Cytotec won't cause abortion at that point, the baby should be all right. I doubt seriously if there will be any major problems. We don't know yet what the long term effects might be, but in every case I know about (including the many cases in Brazil), the stunted growth happens because Cytotec is taken, by itself, when the baby is still forming major body parts.
I look forward to a picture. :)
You're welcome. God bless you and your little guy! Indeed, He already has.
