Reflexology for Migraines: Self-Help Tips for Clients

Question
i am doing reflexology on my first case study client, i am trying to find some self help tips for her, she has suffered from migraines for  years, so far i have only found out that thumb kneading the big toe may reduce the pain, do you have any tips which i could pass on to her. many many thanks suzanne.

Answer
Thanks for your inquiry, Suzanne.

Headaches occur in response to certain drugs, physical conditions and even anxiety. The toes represent the head and neck area. The big toe is a study for tension in the head and neck. Try working all through the head and neck areas on the feet. The solar plexus needs attention for reducing tension. Migraine is a common and particularly distressing type of headache. Migraines are not yet fully understood. The areas mentioned above are important. The spine also needs attention along its entire length, particularly the tailbone area. Unusual as this sounds, many migraines have been linked to injuries in this area.

To reinforce what I have mentioned above, Dwight C Byers, author of "Better Health with Foot Reflexology: the Original Ingham Method", states on pg 67: "The spine remains a vital area to the Reflexologist, and especially the lower back for such conditions as migraine headache..."

I hope this helps you.
