Trouble Accessing Massage & Swelling Question - Seeking Assistance

Question
Hello again,

I received a response to my question about swollen ankles after a massage, but the link won't open for me so I can't view your response.

The link in the email is: http://www.allexperts.com/user.cgi?m=6&catID=1818&expID=108982&qID=4862675

I've tried using various parts of the link, but it either comes up "cannot find" or links me to the AllExperts site. Can you help?

In the meantime I've made an appointment with the P/T office my doctor recommended.  Unfortunately, the next open appointment with a therapist is on March 30th, so I have to go two more weeks before getting any kind of treatment.  Dare I risk another massage?

E.

Answer
Hi Elizabeth,

Please try that link again.  I clicked it in the message from you that I received and it worked!  May have been a momentary glitch.

Yes, risk another massage but tell the therapist about your ankles and she will put it in her notes.  If it happens again, she may be able to make a tie-in between treatment or pressure or length of pressure to avoid it in the future.

Also, your back pain may be caused by the iliopsoas muscle.  There is one on each side.  They attach to your thigh bone, hip bone and spine and disks.  If your therapist doesn't know how to release that muscle (psoas muscle) through your abdomen, look for one who does know how.

A lot of back pain is caused by the psoas (so-as) muscle and it can't go away until it is released.

I hope the other link works.  Please write again if it doesn't.

Take care,

Kathryn
