Why Does Salon Top Coat Glow Under UV Lights? - Nail Care Insights
QuestionVictoria,
When I get a manicure/pedicure at a salon, the top coat being used always glows in the florescent lighting that is provided on site to aid in drying your polish. Yesterday I got a bright red polish pedicure, and my nails were glowing hot pink under the lights...what is in the salon top coat that makes the colors glow?

AnswerDear Monica,
It may be a UV top coat/UV gloss. That would be the reason. I don't specifically know the ingredients, so I'm sorry, I can't answer that question. Also, have you ever noticed that under "black lights" at clubs that your clothes etc don't look the same? Similar phenomenom.
Have a great day
