QuestionI have worn acrylic nails for almost a year..I took them off to let them rest..and now they are splitting up into the nail bed. How can I prevent this? Also, they hurt..are sensitive to even water?? What product or procedure can I use to get my nails back to at least normal?
Thanks,
Carolyn R.
AnswerDear Carolyn,
Most probable cause is the use of an inferior product to do the acrylics but let's not get into that. Buy a nail strengthener (or calcium fortifier) from a respectable brand such as China Glaze or Seche and keep your nails short, not by cutting them but rather filing.
Problem should be gone in about two weeks after that if problem still occurs consult a professional dermatologist.
