Persistent Acne & Blemishes: Causes & Solutions for Adult Skin

Question
Hi there, just looking for a little advice!  I'm 28 years old, and really haven't had any major skin problems, not even as a teenager.  Normal stuff, but never really bad.  In the last couple months, however, my face has become awful, and I have no clue how to go about fixing it.  My chin is the worst part of the problem, I'm breaking out, whiteheads and just bumps under the skin.  Also if I look closely, there are quite a few blackheads as well, and the skin just looks generally uneven.  The blackheads on my nose have also become worse.  I considered that maybe the water is partly to blame?  I recently moved, and I think we now have well water, but I dont' know anything about what's IN the water, or whatnot.  I've been taking a good multivitamin, and I need to drink more water (have been trying to).  But I've NEVER had this happen.  I used to wash my face twice a day (nothing too harsh, but never really had to worry about using "sensitive" products or anything), and I've used the same moisturizer for years.  Now if I put any moisturizer on my face, especially at night, it seems to make things WORSE.  I'm just at a loss, should I stick to like Cetaphil for a few weeks and see how it goes?  Any suggestions would be appreciated!!  Thanks

Answer
Sorry my answer has taken so long, I've been very busy with wedding season and work.

This one could be a tough one because there are some different factors that can be affecting your skin:
hormones: these can lead to break outs, if you've recently changed your birth control ( these bumps tend to reside around the chin and jawline)

stress: sends your hormones out of whack

environment: did you move to a more humid climate?

Water wouldn't be my first guess.
I would find a wash with glycolic acid (or any kind of AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) to help your skin cells turn over which will help with the breakouts and with the skin tone. At 28 you're just now starting to see the sundamage that was done in while you were growing up. Products with kojic acid, hydroquinone (2%) will brightnen your skin and are in most drugstores. Start wearing a good sunscreen everyday to stop any further sun damage.
I hope some of this helps
