QuestionQUESTION: Hi,
I have terrible pale skin. I have really bad skin, I have normal acne and the huge painful acne from periods. I have acne scars all over my face and its really embarrassing. I have tried to use retin-A, but the peeling is a bit too much. I also tried a skin lightener that did not work at all. I was my face every day with soap. I burn easily but then tan in the sun.
I was also wondering about makeup I have super-pale skin and I can never seem to find the right shade of foundation or cover-up. What shade would you recommend? I have huge Middle-Eastern eyes and usually just put on a little bit of eyeliner, but i'm wondering if i could do something different or better?
Thanks,
Holly
ANSWER: Hi Holly,
I would love to help you love your skin.
As I do with all clients, I need to ask a few questions about you and your daily life. This way I can understand what may be going on with your skin's condition.
- Are you drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily? ( this flushes out all the bad from your system)
- What is your daily intake of food - does it include vegetables, fruits, fish, nuts such as almonds? are you consuming high amounts of sugar? salt?
- How is your stress level in your life?
- Are you on any medications? Do you take a daily vitamin?
I'm curious on why you decided to use a skin lightner when you have pale skin. Skin lightners are used to do just that - lighten your skin.
You are lucky to have large eyes! It is a wonderful feature!
If you are using an eyeliner, usually black eyeliner can be used to minimize the look of your eyes. Line the top eyelid as well as the lower eyelash line. Use a little more at the ends to really accent them and less as you get to the inner eye.
What color are your eyes? I can suggest a few colors to accent them.
I look forward to your reply!
Take good care
Elaine :)

QUESTION: I don't really drink a lot of water, I try to eat right, but it can be hard at times, but I generally eat well and do not consume hight levels of sugar or salt. Stress is unbearably high in my life almost at all times. I am not on any medications and occasionally take my vitamins.
I used a skin lightener for the darker acne scars that made my complexion uneven. I wanted to know if there is anything I can do for the scars?
My eyes are brown sometimes darker but now they are turning lighter.
ANSWER: Hello again,
I know it's hard sometimes to eat right but I guarantee you once you start implementing healthy choices as your diet, your skin will thank you by giving you a better complexion :)
Sorry to read that your stress is unbearably high. I care deeply about anyone that tells me that they are stressed in life. There are many ways to relieve stress, you can exercise, try yoga ( I have to do that to keep stress away ) if you have a hobby - keep at it. Maintain your friends as they are your sounding block.
About the skin lightener - is this helping you?
I don't know how severe your scars are but I'd like to suggest an Esthetician to help you with your skin. Please research the spas in your area for one.
Mineral makeup is wonderful for any skin type - you can try Bare Essential. Let me know if you would like a list of mineral makeup.
Your eyes turn colors? Do you have hazel in your brown eyes? I'd like to understand the color.
Look forward to your reply,
Until then - breathe deeply and exhale Holly and smile :)
Warmly

QUESTION: I will try to eat well, thank you for the advice. Yes, please give me a list of mineral makeup. And if you could give me tips for eye makeup, that would be great. My eyes were originally a very dark brown, but now, after a few years, they have gotten lighter, almost hazel-ish. I will attach a picture for you, also if you notice the strange lines under my eyes, can you tell me how to minimize them or cover them up with makeup. Thank you!
Holly :]
AnswerHi Holly!!
You have beautiful features! :)
I'm happy to read that you will eat better. Guaranteed if you continue eating healthy your skin will show it, and your organs will function better :)
You can try any mineral makeup
Suggestions are:
- Bare Essentials which can be found at any Sephora store.
- Bare Escentuals - can be ordered online at www.Bareescuals.com
Your eyes should be lined with a dark pencil as I see you already do. Try to blend the ends to create a smoky look with a small eye sponge usually found at the end of a eyeliner pencil.
Accent your eyes with a shimmery gold or silver at the corners of your eyes. This will make your eyes look so pretty!
Any eye cream will help reduce the look of the lines under your eyes. Also, continue to drink water as that plumps up lines :)
