Using Two SPFs on Your Face: Is It Safe & Effective?

Question
I recently bought a new facial moisturizer with spf 15 in it and I also like to use a spf 40/primer. Will the ingredients do anything weird since I'm using two different spfs on my face?

Answer
Hi Laura!

Good for you! Using a spf to protect your skin from the sun's harmful rays is smart.

You are only protected to the extent of the higher rating of one product. So your spf 40 primer is protecting your skin.
I remember studying just this subject in one of my continuing education classes and how I researched it until I exhausted it.
So, when you layer that is all you are doing and nothing weird will happen :)

Hope this helps

I'm open to any other questions :)

Warmly
Elaine
