QuestionQUESTION: Hi Caroline thanks for the prompt response and to answer your question I use the medication pads all over my face but for some reason The only irritation or dryness I get is on my nose and Im a young man going to turn 19 soon thats why i thought It was odd my skin was getting dry because at this age the skin should produce a lot of sebum i assumed and my skins always been normal besides the occasional sunburn or what not.
ANSWER: Hello again Chris!
Thanks for the info. I originally thought it might be your acne medication pads that could cause this irritation and dryness, but you're right, it's odd that it only happens on your nose. As a precaution, I would still recommend that you don't use acne medication pads or harsh lotions on your nose.
I am not a dermatologist, so I cannot diagnose what's happening with your skin. However, it looks like you may be having a dry eczema/dermatitis on and around your nose. To heal this dryness and irritation, you're going to have to act on your skin AND on your diet. As you mention yourself, your skin should be healthy... but it's not, which means that something is disbalanced, something changed. Whether you're under (or have been) too much stress, are having an hormonal shift toward inflammatory processes or your body is disagreeing with your diet, I can't tell, but maybe you can. Your body, your mind, your emotions are all interconnected and form just one biological integrated system. Try to see what changed in your life before your skin started acting up and revert to the previous way of living.
Meanwhile, you should use RAW Shea butter (don't use the refined one, it's useless) to nourish and heal your dry skin from outside.
At the same time, take Essential Fatty Acids (omega-3 and -6) supplements like Borage or Black Currant oil softgels for 3 months.
Finally, try to clean up your diet: reduce meat, dairy, starch, sugar as much as possible and use lots of greens, fruits, whole grains and drink plenty of water and green tea.
It's also a good time in the year to do detox. You can read more about detox in this article:

or read this book:

If you follow these suggestions, your skin should normalize and you should be able to forget what dry and irritated skin means, and you will have more energy!
I hope you find this answer helpful.
Have a beautiful day,
Take good care

QUESTION: Hey caroline thank you so much for the info i started using less of of my pads and i used the Shea butter along with some Vaseline moisturizer i bought and my nose got much better and my face feels nice and smooth with no dryness thanks again i was worried it was a skin condition but now i know all i need to do is keep my skin hydrated and that goes a long way.
AnswerHello again!
If I may say so: stay away from Vaseline, Eucerin and the like. They contain petrochemicals that aren't good for the skin on the long run, even though at first they make your skin look great. Stick to Shea butter: it should help you a lot. If the dryness and irritation persist, get back to me and I'll help.
I'm glad you could fix your problem so easily. It's been a pleasure helping you.
Take good care
