Understanding and Treating Under-the-Skin Acne: Causes & Solutions

Question
Hello,

I am 20 years old (which I thought meant I was past the age of still worrying about spots!!) ... Although I get 'normal' spots they are not the main issue. My main issue is under-the-skin spots. When I look closely in the mirror, I have small lumps (with no head) on my cheeks/around my mouth/my forehead. They are small, I would say the size of a small whitehead although, on their own, they never come to a head. If I squeeze them then yes something usually comes out but if I leave them alone they remain as they are and they aren't very nice. Do you know what they are/what causes them/MOST IMPORTANTLY - how to get rid of them?

A friend told me that she takes Cod Liver Oil tablets and they help her skin. Do you think these work? What other vitamins are good to take? I am a student and although it would be best to eat healthily and loads of fruit/veg it is unrealistic which I why I think vitamin supplements are the most suitable option for me just now.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Wobby

Answer
Hello Wobby,

Unfortunately, you are not passed the age of worrying about spots, so don't stress too much about having those!

What would really help your skin is to do green clay facial masks twice a week for 5-10 min.
You can find green clay paste here:

Clay will help to clean your skin at a deep level and remove the source of these spots. You may have to be patient and do it for at least 4 weeks as the clay's action is powerful, but may not show up right away as it's natural and acts at a deep level, not a surface one.

You can find more about facial masks here:

You may also want to use Lavender floral water as a facial cleanser. Make sure you moisturize your skin with a good natural cream after cleansing and after each green clay mask.

The causes of these spots are a disbalance in your skin, linked to a disbalance in your digestive system and your diet. Your body is overwhelmed by toxins (and maybe stress) and doesn't know how to get rid of them, so it sends some to your skin. These toxins might become a spot when they accumulate in one pore, and they might provide a good background for bad bacteria.

I would recommend Borage, Primrose and Currant oil soft gels, as well as a good herbal detox like this one:

Taking vitamins is good, but that won't compensate for your bad diet. Maybe you could add more salads to your diet? and eating an apple or a banana isn't that difficult, if you think of it. Remember that the  better you take care of your body, the better your brain will function, so if you care about graduating, start caring about your diet. I understand it might be difficult because you're a student and you may be very busy, but just start with small steps, don't aim at a grandiose change. Whatever improvement you can do will help :)

I hope you find this answer helpful.
Have a beautiful day,
Take good care
