Under-Eye Wrinkles: Causes, Prevention & Solutions

Question
Hello, I'm 23 years old. I come from South East Asia but I've been studying in the UK for the past 3 years. I don't really wear make or any kind of moisturiser, so I guess it's no surprise when my parents came to see me a few weeks ago, he told me that I have wrinkles under my eyes. He said it's typical of people staying in cold countries because the air is dry.

I just want to know if it's permanent and what I can do about it either way. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Lisa!

This is one of my specialties and favorite question :)

You are only 23 years old and yes there is a way to help with the wrinkles. If you follow this skin regime daily - you will see your wrinkles diminish.

-You have to faithfully drink 8 glasses of water daily. Guaranteed to plump up your eyes :)
-Invest in a good eye cream. I'd like to suggest Oil of Olay's Anti wrinkle eye cream and also L'oreal's Advanced Revilift.
If you'd like other suggestions, I'm more than happy to write them to you
NOTE: use your ring finger to apply your eye cream - your ring finger won't apply hard pressure as your other fingers do. This is important to remember to help prevent wrinkling :)

Also, you could massage your skin nightly before bed. Lightly massage your in slow rhythmic circular motions. Concentrate on your eyes by starting at the top corner of your eyes and in circular motions about 6-8 times to each eye.
If you continue to do these nightly exerices into your 40's and 50's - you won't ever need Botox :)

- A healthy diet of fruits, vegetables is a must for healthy skin. Eat 6-8 almonds daily as they are high in Vitamin E which helps with battle wrinkling of the skin.
- Eat salmon twice a week as this has DMAE to help keep your skin soft and supple :)
- Limit your sugar intake. Sugar causes wrinkles. If you love chocolate as much as I do and most of the human population, turn to dark chocolate. The more cocoa the dark chocolate has the higher the antioxidants.
- If you are a sun worshipper, limit your exposure. If you are going to spend any time in the sun make sure you have a high number sunscreen applied to your skin to protect your skin.

Everything I wrote above has been helpful to many of my clients and to me. I am 46 and have to happily say my skin is in excellent health and very minimal noticable wrinkles under the eyes.

As with everything, nothing can happen overnight so be patient and you'll see a difference in a week or two. I'd love to hear of your progress so please write again

Take good care and smile as you are on your way to wonderful eyes.

Warmly
Elaine :)
