I am writing this because I have found a lack of information about the pregnancy timeline from a male's point of view. My girlfriend is pregnant with our first child and it is something that we are very happy about. She is now over 3 months gone.
When you first find out your partner is pregnant it is very exciting. Soon after that though they start to experience the signs of pregnancy and can make it tough for you. It is normal for that to happen but I would like for you to understand beforehand the changes that this might have.
Well the first common symptom of pregnancy that nearly everyone has heard of is morning sickness. For my girlfriend she felt this when she got hungry and it is not just in the mornings. Although she was not actually physically sick, she did get the feeling a lot but by the 14 week along the pregnancy timeline these feelings do pass.
Another change that your girlfriend will see will be in her energy levels. She will feel more and more tired. You will notice her sleeping a bit longer each day and this is something that will impact on her normal activities. Although she does feel more tired she does need to keep doing her normal routine for as long as she can.
You will also notice that in the evening that she will want to do a lot more sitting around and you may be required to take a more active role in the housework. This is something that you should be sympathetic of but remember the tiredness will pass further along the pregnancy timeline.
The other symptoms that your partner might have are cravings, suffer from headaches and backaches, she might suffer from constipation and be a little more moody than usual. It will all be worth it in the end though.
