QuestionI have a friend who always sits in a rocking chair while reading or watching TV. While sitting, he rocks. He claims that by rocking, he burns a few more calories than by just sitting in a chair. Is there anything to this? How many more calories (if any) are burned by rocking compared to sitting?
Happy new year

AnswerCalories burned depends upon weight as well as metabolism. Though there's not too much of a difference between sitting and rocking in a chair.
