Answer
I will be very honest with you about your questions:
1. Doctors often tell patients to take vitamins because it rarely causes problems, gives the patient something to do that will help them feel in control, but in very few instances does it really make a difference.
Water soluable vitamins are those that once the body's needs are met, simply flush out of your system.  Taking a supplement is a waste of time and money.
Fat soluable vitamins will build up in the body and over time can lead to toxicity or actually you prone to certain cancers or other diseases.  This rarely happens when fat soluable vitamins are taken in by foods.

So in response to the vitamin question - it's far better to just eat right. You'll get ALL the vitamins you need that way and it's both less complicated and less costly.

2. You should have '5 servings of fruit' a day at the very least.  What most people don't realize is that a 'serving' is only half a cup. So, one large banana can equal up to 3 servings!
Bananas, apples (with skin on), pears, any orange fleshed melons, dark grapes, etc. are IDEAL fruits. So are any berries.

3. Veggies are important too. Try legumes (various beans like black eyed peas, black beans, kidney beans, navy beans, etc.) mixed in with rice and spices or added to a soup. Dark green leafy salads or even V8 juice is a good way to get your veggies.
Sorry, no, you cannot go without them.  Remember, spaghetti sauce (red) is also a vegetable!

4. OCD is a psychological disorder. Good nutrition may contribute to an overall feeling of wellbeing and health, but no foods cure or treat psychological disorders, no matter what the pseudo-science may indicate or uneducated websites that have something to sell (ulterior motives) may promote.

Eat well, be well - and continue your psych treatment for OCD.

 Good luck and God bless.
