Weight Loss Plateau: Why It Happens & How to Break Through

Question
I've been dieting and exercising consistently since December and have been losing about 2 lbs a week.  I have hit a plateau. My trainer tells me I need to eat more.  I'm currently consuming between 1400-1600 calories a day weight training 3x a week and cardio 6x a week.  I've increased my caloric intake but the scale is not budging! What should I do.

Answer
Hi Barbara,

You must be patient for a proper result that will stick for the long term.

A plateau normally means either more weights and less cardio, and more protein in your meals.

Protein comes from lean fish/chicken/meat/eggs/soy products.
It is not the amount of calories- it is what they are made up from.

As an example I can have a woman taking over 2000 calories lose weight and shape up and feel great by eating correctly balanced meals, compared to the same women eating the same 2000calories ( or cutting back) but made up of different types of food and putting on weight.

If you want a near perfect solution then the nutrition shakes are the absolute best way. I've been using them for over 3 years and have never felt better!
