Brown Rice for Weight Loss: Benefits & Best Practices

Hi,
I'm trying to lose weight, so would brown rice along with a few vegetables be okay to eat for dinner?

Hi Trisha.  Brown rice is good because it has fiber, some potassium and B vitamins.  For weight loss, fiber is helpful because it fills you up more than refined foods.  Brown rice and vegetables is an okay dinner but I always recommend that you have lean protein at every meal.  Rice has some but not much.  So, a little chicken, fish, etc. would be a good idea (small portion is the trick!).  Make sure you are watching your total energy intake and if you get stuck, let me know.
