Dark Brown Quartz
Here is another picture of the Dark Brown Quartz-like rock in question. I can see fractures similar to a coke bottle or flint on the sides. Is this Smoky Quartz? It looks too dark to be Smoky Quartz.

It does look to be of the quartz family, but not smokey quartz. Smokey is nomally clear like glass. This rock looks more like chert.
