Realistic Weight Loss Timeline: A Personalized Approach

Question
I'm a 22 year old female I way 265lbs I excersize 3 to 4 times a week that's (30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of toning each time)  how long do u think it would take me to loose 100-130 lbs.

Answer
Hi Lizzie:

It's great that you're getting into the exercise habit so young.  If you keep this up, regardless of what happens with your weight, you'll be better off long-term... less risk of diabetes, hypertesion, etc.

But I can't tell you how much you'll lose unless I know more about your diet.  Sadly, exercise alone doesn't seem to do a lot for weight loss.  It usually needs to be combined with dietary changes as well.  If you really are 100-130 pounds over a normal BMI, then you would qualify for bariatric surgery.  That coupled with your exercise routine could lead to a excellent prognosis for weight loss long-term.

You can get a good idea of your daily caloric intake and calorie burn through some of the free websites like Sparkpeople.com and thedailyplate.com

I'm sorry I can't give you any more specifics.  If you look at what you're losing on a weekly basis now, you can use that as a guide... but you're going to have to increase intensity as times goes on to burn/lose at the same rate.

Sorry, I can't be of more help.
