Where to Buy Sterling Silver & Gold-Filled Fishbone Chains | CGM Findings
Questioni have fallen in love with a type of chain called fishbone chain(i can't find a photo online) and can only find it in base metal. if you are familiar with this type of chain, where can i find it in sterling or gf?
AnswerHello Amy,
CGM findings has a wide assortment of chain types including some new ones that i'm afraid you have fallen for. Rio Grande may have it, and Fire Mountain gems may have it but its not worth their asking price..so If you can't get it from CGM, write back and I'll start searching ..try typing in a search for chain by the foot and see if one of the resultant hits carries it or just search using "Creative Commons" as the search engine, for that style chain: (i.e.- 14/20 Fishbone chain..)it is a search engine designed for craftspeople so it may narrow down what google or any other may find a bit..I personally haven't encountered it..Cuttlefish bone chain yes..fishbone- no..Rio Grande just introduced cuttlefish bone chain last year to their catalogue..it's pricey though and -please!! someone made a mould of a cuttlefish link and is casting from that- they incinuate that each link or piece is cast from an individual bone- no one could supply them that many successful pours and deliver on time daily to fill orders..so if its cuttlefishbone chain, Rio Grande is the source..other than that..
I'll look around too..but do your homework first and search for it on creative commons..but do try CGM..first
best regards,Ari
