I am new to the fine jewelry industry, and would like to increase my knowledge of the jewelry we sell.  How do you suggest that I learn about precious gems?

The GIA or Gemological Institute of America is an excellent source of knowledge and prestige. They have programs in CA or NY. It has changed a bit since I received my Certificate but the knowledge they provide will be used for a lifetime in the industry. They have several programs dealing with every aspect of our industry. Hope you take advantage of it.
