Hi, i was just wondering if buying a 4 carat smetrine for 50 australian dollars was a good deal?
the cut is oval and the clarity is good

A 4 carat Ametrine at that price would be a good buy provided the following were true:
The Ametrine is natural and not synthetic
The purple half (Amethyst) is a nice rich purple
The Yellow half (Citrine) is a golden yellow
The color is fairly evenly split (50/50 is ideal)
The stone is clean (no visible inclusions)
The faceting and polish are good
You love the stone
