QuestionI have two platinum wedding bands I'm interested in selling now that the price has gone up so much. They have some custom engraving and no stones. What can I expect to sell them for? Total weight is 27.32g and I've been quoted about $35 per gram while the spot market has been running around $2170 or $77.50 per gram. Where's the best place to sell it? If I decided to keep them is it possible to have a jeweler re-cast them into something else? Thanks and best regards.

You cannot get 100 spot price for Platinum, too many variables involved when melting, platinum jewelry is usually 950 or 95 pure but costs a lot more to refine or smelt.
If you were quoted 35/gr that is a very good price on the street since dealers are most likely not paying higher than 50.00, Platinum FYI came down today and may drop further. If you want to sell we will pay you 40.00/ gram but you need to ship as soon as possible.
