Invisible Setting Wedding Band Repair & Diamond Loss - Expert Advice

Question
My wedding band is a invisible setting band with several diamonds in it and I have recently lost a diamond It is attached to my engagement ring which was a custom made ring, because of this few jewelers will look at it and I cannot take it to the original jeweler because I have moved. I have been told that the "invisible mounting" will eventually be a problem for most if not all of these diamonds and it was suggested that I do a new band with different setting to prevent that from happening again. I was told then that because of the way the diamonds are set now they have none or very little value - a very depressing thought for me. My question is -- does this sound right? My other question is how can you tell if my jeweler is certified/registered etc. I have checked the BBB and they are OK there but how can I check his jewelry design credentials? Thank You

Answer
Invisible settings are out of date since they cause more problems than its worth....its not your jewelers fault but if you like give me his name and I will find out for you.....i dont know what the other jeweler was trying to pull over you but my thought is he was trying to make a sale....dont believe him. Send me a picture and give me a name
I will let you know
