Question stone pic
QUESTION: good day to you sir,can you help me to identify what my stones are,i dont have a diamond tester,i found it in river together with a rock and i remove it using an angle grinder some of the crystals were cracked.thanks

I CAN'T POSITIVELY IDENTIFY THESE STONES WITH JUST A PHOTO BUT I AM PRETTY SURE THEY ARE NOT DIAMOND. THEY LOOK LIKE QUARTZ BUT WITHOUT ACTUALLY SEEING THEM IN PERSON AND TESTING THEM I CAN'T BE SURE. I AM PRETTY SURE THEY ARE NOT DIAMOND. THANKS

WHAT ARE YOU USING FOR A SCRATCH TEST? THE ONLY THING THAT WILL SCRATCH A DIAMOND IS ANOTHER DIAMOND. IT CAN'T BE MOISANNITE SINCE MOISANNITE IS MAN MADE, NOT AS HARD AS DIAMOND AND DOES NOT OCCUR NATURALLY. YOU WOULD NEED TO HAVE A SET OF HARDNESS PENCILS TO DETERMINE THE HARDNESS OF THE STONES. QUESTION: i really appreciate for your answer,i really thank you,i used a window glass for the scratch test but the window glass cant scratch them,because i read from the new book of knowledge that in mohs scale that quartz,topaz,ruby,saphire can be scrath by a window glass and that only diamond can't be scratch by a window glass, thank you sir

I THINK YOU READ THAT WRONG. ALL THE GEMS YOU MENTIONED CAN SCRATCH GLASS!! DON'T USE GLASS AS A TEST. RUBY AND SAPPHIRE ARE CORUNDUM AND ARE 9 ON THE MOH'S SCALE WITH DIAMOND BEING 10. YOU SHOULD FIND A BETTER SOURCE OF INFORMATION THAN WHAT YOU HAVE. LOOK IT UP ON THE INTERNET.
