Rhodium Plating for White Gold Rings: Safety & Process

Question
i need to have my white gold ring replated to make it look good again, but i'm a little concerned that the claws holding my diamond in will get weak and break, how is the replating done do you need to remove the stone first.

thank you

maria

rhodium plating a ring does NOT have any bearing on the wear and tear of the metal, its just an electronic coating of a chemical which turns the metal bright white....if indeed your "claws" or prongs as we call them, are weak, have them retipped at a good jewelry store who has a shop on premise to insure the stone will not be lost.
All the best
