Protect Silver Rings with Clear Nail Polish: Does It Really Work?

If I were to put clear nail polish on some silvertone rings, will it last longer and not tarnish?

If the rings are cleaned neatly with alcohol to remove any fingerprints, etc., which could lead to tarnish... then the answer is yes, the clear polish can prevent some contact with chemicals in the air which lead to contact.

Nail polish is a basic lacquer coating and will wear away in time, sooner or later depending on how often the rings are worn and face abrasion is nature around us.  I cannot predict how long the coating will last and protect the rings since I do not know how and were and how often you wear the jewelry. It will certainly not hurt to try it, as long as the rings are metal and not a plated plastic of some sort.
