Is a Catering Reception Hall a Viable Business? Insights & Considerations

I am thinking about opening a catering reception hall and have read some of the comments where others have asked you the same. You have mentioned a lot of points that are extremely valuable some of which I never thought of. You have already been a great help to me. I must ask this, you seem to hold a dark cloud over the idea with negative comments showing the downside. Is this really a bad business or why do you say this?

Hi TJ, It is not that it is that bad but when most people get an idea to start something they get a rolling high and don't realize the downside. That is why a neutral party can be very valuable source of information. Within about a 45 minute ride from my location I cannot even count how many places have went bankrupt. I know of at least a half dozen in just the past year. I don't want to put a smoke screen out there but I do want people asking for information to see the full picture and they already have in their minds the upside.
