QuestionHi Wendy--My daughter and I have sticker shock from interviewing two florists recently. I know that we'll be able to afford fresh flowers for bouquets, corsages, etc. but we've been quoted $50 per table (25+ tables) for extremely simple arrangements. (One, a half-sphere of carnations in a disposable dish and the other, five mini callas in a vase that is provided by the venue. My question is, Knowing that we can get bulk flowers much cheaper, even gerbera daisies which would fit the color scheme and be easy to arrange,do you think we should go this route? I would love to be the "arranger", but know that I'll be too busy, but I do have friends that could handle it for us. Any comments??
AnswerHi Mona:
Sorry for the delay in answering but in the middle of me answering it originally, our internet went out and it is just now fixed.
To answer your question, $50 per centerpiece is really not a lot of money however, when you don't have it to spend it might as well be $5000. I would send you to Costco.com but their centerpieces are even more expensive for a simple arrangement yet still far less than most florists charge.
While saving money is always a plus, just be sure that your friends are up to the task and will a do a job that your daughter and you will be satisfied with. You could end up being very unhappy and then saving the money really will not be worth it.
I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.
Happy planning,
